Why I love cold brew coffee
Why I love cold brew coffee
- Taste less water-y then hot coffee poured over ice
- I'ts the only coffee I've every liked black

- You can drink it with or without ice
- It's cheep to make and wont cause you to go into debt... because I mean college loans are enough right ?
- It's long brew time makes it really strong (It will keep you up ALL NIGHT LONG ! )
- The recipe is really simple, easy, and the best part is YOU DON'T NEED A COFFEE MAKER !!
What You Need
- large jug, jar or vase
- coffee filters
- strainer or funnel
- large bowl/ container
Ingredients
- 1 cup of coffee
- vanilla almond milk to taste (sweetened or unsweetened) or sweetener of choice
- all natural sugar or stevia
- maple syrup to taste (optional)
- lots of ice
- lots of water
Directions
*Add one cup of coffee to a large jar and fill with water (maybe 5 cups)
*Stir | *Add maple natural | *Place in the fridge for 12-24 hours |
*After your coffee has chilled in the fridge for 12-24 hours it's time to strain. straining separates the delicious drinkable coffee from the grounds.
There are 2 ways to go about this straining.
- Option 1: place coffee filter inside strainer and place both over a bowl (note: this works better with a tall bowl or container so the filtered coffee doesn't meet the strainer). Fill the strainer and let it drain, waiting for the liquid to separate from the grounds, fill again and repeat until all coffee is grounds free!
- Option 2: place the coffee filter into a funnel and strain in the same way. (note: this method I only recommend if you don't have a strainer because the filter often falls into the clean coffee, mixing the grounds back in and then you have to start over :/ )
Straining Tips
A smaller bowl can be used, just know when it starts to get full the strainer will touch the filtered coffee. This means you'll have to hold the strainer above the filtered coffee towards the end. | To avoid having to hold the strainer use a taller container. I had to refill the strainer about 7-9 times. | Straining will go pretty slow. so if you're in a hurry, carefully pick up the strainer and squeeze it . Be careful not to bust the coffee filter as the grounds will fall through the strainer into the filtered coffee, you may have to begin again. |
